Research and summarize in your own words 2 First Nations “Trickster” stories. Include links to your sources. Here are a few links to help you get started:

3. Creative Story:
Create an original Trickster story. You will have to use this story to plot time and distance on a graph, so keep this in mind as you are creating your story.
You can choose one of three options: a short written story, a comic strip, or a play.
- Written Story must include an outcome that explains a natural occurrence (such as tides, rain, the moon, etc.).
- Comic Strip must have at least 5 panels.
- Play must be accompanied by a point form outline or narration. Outline must include key ideas of performance. No script is required. You can either perform live in front of the class, or present a recorded skit.
- It must contain a word problem which links your Trickster story to a grid
- The grid must include:
- a title (eg. “The Journey of the Seagull”)
- axis labels (time, distance)
- units for the labels (minutes, hours, days, metres, kilometres, etc.)
- an interval for each axis (eg. 0, 2, 4, 6, 8... or 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15...)
- a title (eg. “The Journey of the Seagull”)
During class, groups will exchange their math problems with other groups. You will work together to complete the problems of other groups.
6. Reflections:
Each group member must complete a personal reflection. Reflection must be at least 5 sentences long. Possible topics to reflect on include:
- Things you enjoyed.
- Things you found difficult.
- Things you would do differently next time.
- Something you learned working with your group.
